Subject: Truro School into semi-final of Daily Mail Vase

The 1st XV beat Westcliff High School for Boys 21 - 0 in a closely contested match in Southend. Westcliff played with the wind and slope in the first half and although dominating the match territorially could not breach the stubborn and well-organised Truro defence. In the second half however the School pack's driving mauls were gaining substantial amounts of territory and it was from one of these that their first try was scored. The School eventually scored three tries all converted. The scoreline may suggest an easy win but this was a very hard-fought match and the School showed exceptional discipline and organisation, especially in defence.

The next game will be played near Wolverhampton on Sunday 4th March.
