Sana di na lang kumuha ng judge yung Star In A Million kung ung decision nila eh hindi ire-respect! Marunong pa kayo sa judges, bakit marunong ba kayon bumasa ng nota? Alam nyo ba kung pano talaga magperform on stage? Kaya nga sila judges kasi mas alam nila kung sino yung pipiliin kaysa sa inyo.
Pero in fairness magaling talaga si Sheryn. But during the night of the grand finals, I was a bit disappointed kasi nga parang kulang sa intensity si Sheryn. Parang di sya yung nagnu-number one sa weekly round. Its not the song I know (favorite ko rin yung song na kinanta niya) pero talagang parang ang reluctant nya. Siguro alam na alam na niya na sya yung mananalo. Pero nung time na sinabi ni Gary na dapat ang isang singer di dapat technical sa pagkanta kailangang feel na feel nya yung song alam ko na na hindi sya mananalo. Kasi napakatechnical ng pakakakanta ni Sheryn, para lang syang kumakanta sa ASAP or SOP or Sharon. Pero parang wala sya sa concert nya.
I think SIAM had laid down their parameters in searching for the winner. They are not only looking for people who can sing the highest of notes pero someone who could put up a real good show. Yung tipong habang kumakanta sya gusto mong sabayan. I think Erick did just that. He sang as if it was really his moment. He put up a very great show. Why do you think Sarah Geronimo won in Star for A Night (despite others who belt out better than her and also look better than her)?
If others think that other gay impersonator can saing like Erick (kaya naging mediocre sya) well then those gay impersonators can also be stars. Harping on that logic, I think there are much more people who can sing like Sheryn as well (remember the gay impersonator of Regine named Anton?).
Over-all i think deserve ni Erick yung award. Diba nga sabi nila burado lahat ng scores nila nung weekly and their performance during the night is what mattered solely. Yung texter's choice galing yun sa performance nila sa weekly. Kaya nga naglagay ng ganong award to give recognition sa performance nila nung weekly kung saan naging favorite sila ng mga tao. And yes binoto ko si Sheryn!
In closing, three things why Erick won:
1. He sang the perfect song for the night.
2. He sang as if it was his concert. He performed his ass out so to speak.
3. Sheryn was just so reluctant and over-confident and it showed in her performance.
