Zsa Zsa and Edu discover a Star in a Million

Divine Diva Zsa-Zsa Padilla and Edu Manzano search for the next Philippine superstar in Star in a Million, the newly revamped ASAP Mania's spectacular segment set to change the way stars are discovered forever.

Starting this Sunday, April 6, Star in a Million transforms ASAP into the venue by which up-and-coming performers are found and tested, opposite the greatest entertainment experts in the country. Star in a Million opens with five finalists - chosen from over five hundred aspirants for the pilot broadcast alone - who will perform in front of ASAP's select group of guest judges. The panel of judges for this first Star in a Million telecast include Superstar Nora Aunor, film director Jose Javier Reyes, TV director and ABS-CBN Talent Center head honcho Johnny Manahan and film and recording star Jessa Zaragoza.

TV audiences will also get the chance to cast their Star in a Million votes by texting STAR to 2366. Ex. To vote for candidate number 2, text STAR 2 then send to 2366

While Star in a Million follows in the footsteps of many great TV star quests - specifically the original Filipino star search Tawag ng Tanghalan, which aired on ABS-CBN in the pre-Martial Law years and produced successful stars like Nora Aunor, Diomedes Maturan, and Edgar Mortiz - Star in a Million differs in the amount of challenge it gives the emerging talent it discovers. Aside from the quality of a singer's voice, Star in a Million's judges grade its aspiring stars in terms of their stage presence and poise, their dancing abilities, their ability to harmonize and work with their fellow singers, as well as the very special guest performers that ASAP brings into their midst.

In short, Star in a Million is a search for a total performer - one who is at home with both ballads and fast songs, and can cope with the challenges of performing, in front of an audience and a live backing band, with grace and style.

Rare talent like that will be rewarded with prizes even future divas and concert kings will love. Aside from makeovers and nationwide exposure, Star in a Million promises the grand prize winner a career-making showcase, starting with a recording contract with Star Records, inclusion into the ABS-CBN Talent Center roster of stars, a spot as one of ASAP Mania's regular performers, and a cool P1 million cash prize, among others.
