Subject: SUV drivers do not know how to drive their SUVs!

Memo to potential SUV buyers:

DON'T BUY ONE UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW TO DRIVE ONE.

Better yet, buy a car.

How many times have we seen SUV drivers wander across traffic lines, drive off the road, take an eternity to go over speed bumps, take another eternity making left turns, and riding your ass!

It is clear to me that the majority of first-time SUV buyers -- especially women -- think they drive just like cars, only to be surprised that they handle like trucks?

What has to be the greatest threat to American safety this side of a terrorist's dirty bomb, is a woman yakking on a cellphone, while she is cruising in her cute, little Ford Excursion!

Most people who buy SUVs will never take them off-road...except, of course, in traffic jams when they will go off-road onto public sidewalks and private right-of-ways just so that they can get into the turn lane a few hundred feet ahead.

Wow! What a savings in time! Now, they can get home 30 seconds sooner so that they can sit their fat asses down on a couch and vegetate.

Meanwhile, me, in my recently washed and waxed PASSENGER CAR, gets pummeled with rocks and dirt kicked up by the SUV driver who thinks that road markings are meant to be ignored, and that he or she can drive anywhere he or she wants to go.

The irony is that the DMV will not let me drive an Abrams tank on the road claiming that it is not a vehicle...or that it will tear up the asphalt. Well, I counter, what do you think a 4-ton Hummer does?

SUVs SUX!
