VIVA-TV'S "STAR FOR A NIGHT" DEBUTS MARCH 31 OVER IBC-13
Quezon City, March 25, 2002 (BULLETIN) Here now is your chance to uncover the talent and see the stars. Viva–TV’s newest presentation “Star For A Night” is all set to premiere on Philippine television at 8 pm over IBC–13 on March 31, Easter Sunday right before the country’s favorite game show ‘”Who Wants to be a Millionaire.”
Hosted by singing star Regine Velasquez, “Star For a Night” is the Filipino edition of the newest sensation to come out of British television. The show provides a launch pad for unknown, still unsigned talents. After passing auditions, the lucky contestants get the opportunity to perform in a production number created expressly for them, becoming in effect “stars for a night.” All events leading to the special night will also be documented. They will perform before industry professionals who will tell them if they have what it takes to be a star.
The weekly winner brings home R50,000, R100,000 for the semi–finals and R1 million for the grand finals.
Set to perform as the evening’s stars this Sunday are balikbayan Roxanne Castro, a 19–year–old singer and dancer, Ma. Louella Luna, a band member trying her luck as a solo singer, Emmanuel Omaga, a 17–year–old balladeer, and 13–year–old Kristel Arriane Astor, a Birit Baby winner.
These stars are provided with their show wardrobe by Sari–Sari, grooming by the Paradigm Salon and will stay overnight at the Bay View Park Hotel, Manila before the big day. The award–winning Raul Mitra is in charge of the musical arrangements. Director is Jon Corpus.
“Star For A Night” is another quality production from Viva–TV, a Viva Entertainment Company.
