SAD STATE OF PINOY INTELLIGENCE
( Why people like Boy Agenda is able to always
get one over on our artists and celebrities )

WE saw the 'Imbestigador' show about the deteriorating intelligence
of Filipinos and we felt sad when the question that got the most
number of correct answers is: Who plays Darna? Everyone knows Angel
Locsin but ask them about our history andgovernmentand they go blank.
They don't even know what a congressman or a mayor does. "Basta
bumoboto lang ako," says one respondent.

This is why an informative show like "Barangay Bida" is a must.
Hosted by national president of the Barangay League in our country,
James Marty Lim, it aims to inform the public about what their
barangay can do for them. This will be shown starting Saturday,
September 3, 5 to 6 p.m. on RPN-9, and aired on
Radio Veritas 846 mhz, Fridays, 3 to 4 p.m.

James is a La Salle management graduate and is the leader
of Barangay Dos in Gasan, Marinduque where his mom, Hon. Vicky Lim,
was former mayor. Aside from being Barangay League president,
he is also member of the National Anti-Poverty Commission,
Agrarian Reform Dept. Steering Committe, Sangguniang Kabataan
National Council of Elders, and other important groups.

Under his leadership, the Barangay Officers Foundation of the
Philippines was established in 1999 to provide life and accident
insurance to barangay officials. He's now advocating reforms
in the barangay governance to pursue his vision of making each
barangay a strong pillar of government providing quality service
to the people. His show, "Barangay Bida,"will have several segments
that all aim to improve barangay living, showcasing Filipino culture
and lifestyle as well.
