GMA-7 has a problem Originally posted on PPS group in April 06 from music fan Toby Spiderman from what i can see... the problem is GMA disqualifies talents that are managed by mangers not associated by gma, like liang himself. but unlike in pps year 1... brenan espartinez himself is a member of a defunct pop group "kaya" that released a hit album but earlier disbanded... but he wasnt disqualified from pinoy pop superstar... to think that aside from managerial contracts, one of their policies are pps is strictly for "undiscovered talents" only. brenan, last years' runner up, is obviously not undiscovered. and we all know he is not disqualified... aside from brenan, "nerissa", who lost to kristel astor on kristel's qualifying week, and lost to mc monterola as well on the callback special, is actually a "aliw awardee"... she's a "best new artist of aliw awards" and she was able to join pinoy pop superstar without any disqualification at all... what else? kristel astor even, she's a star for a night and search for a star semi-finalist... she obviously has connections already on the production team upon joining pinoy pop superstar... but i only see two reasons why pps should disqualify liang when even long before, even on starstruck.. they dont follow their own rules and policy... 1: the grand contenders are just to many to handle 2: they would like to change their image. and only allow gma managers to use gma talent shows. but then... pps is not the only show who uses favor among contestants... search for a star in a million's contestants are actually talents from abscbn's workshops... so what now? PPS music fan Toby V ---------- > Toby also said: I think it'll be nice if other people will know what's going on so they will not depend on tv contests that they thought will bring them to stardom... so that they could try other options.. --> i tried to audition at pps and siam before... at pps you could already see that the audition process is unfair and has favoritism... some even make a joke about "RC baltazar" being gay and all approving chinito auditionees... even those who cannot sing, there are lots of good talents that wasnt able to make it to the cut because of rc's favoritism..... to siam... though i made it to the next round... the summer workshop or regular workshop students are always the one who made it on the elimination round and the finals... -> also, to start... the viva main office (at stock exchange pasig ortigas) accepts demo tapes.... maybe you could get a manager there or something to back you up...i havent tried it yet for i cant find any recording studio where i can record a demo with good quality....
