CORNERSTONE COLLEGE HALTS BERRY'S WINNING STREAK, 60-51
Lady Vikings finally fall, but are having a great season so far! Coach Izard is about to pick up 400th win!

Deana Duncan scored 16 points for Berry College, but the Lady Vikings' 11-game winning streak was snapped by Cornerstone (Mich.) College Tuesday when the Golden Eagles handed Berry a 60-51 loss at the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish Shootout in Palm Beach, Fla.

The loss means Berry head coach Jim Izard must wait to earn his 400th collegiate head coaching victory.

Duncan, a sophomore forward, also grabbed a team high nine rebounds. She was joined in double figures by freshman center Lauren Phillips, who scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and sophomore guard Cori Cason, who added 12 points and six rebounds.

The loss was Berry's first since dropping a 98-66 decision at NCAA Division I Alabama in a scrimmage on Nov. 9. Under NAIA rules, the scrimmage loss must count on Berry's overall record.

Berry is now 14-2 overall, while Cornerstone, ranked 13th in the latest NAIA Division II national poll, improves to 14-3.

Berry will make its second attempt at giving Izard, in his third year as the Lady Vikings' head coach and his 22nd overall as a collegiate head coach, his 400th career victory when it returns to action Jan. 8 at Freed-Hardeman in its TranSouth Athetic Conference opener.
