I sure took into marriage ideas formed in childhood through my parents. A woman's role was to raise the children and make a nice happy home. The man's role was to bring home the $. Sad. Roles sure put pressure on a relationship. I like how my kids have a more equal relationship with both doing the cooking, cleaning and bringing home the $.
I taught my kids to discuss problems instead of letting them fester.
Each generation can learn from the last. Hopefully they will be better parents than I was. Think we did better than our parents and now it's our kids turn to do better then us.
