 She seemed to have been a little more quiet before and he speculated that perhaps his reply hadn't been appropriate and now he had no idea on how to fix it. He walked on steadily, thinking hard about everything and nothing all that the same time. "It sounds like you get on really well with your family." What a flat and dull question - he hoped she wouldn't mind the lack of verbal brilliance.
