The child slumbered lightly, tiwitching occasionally at her dreams. Her hair slowly dried over time, small cuts from her attempt fading as quickly as they came. Her arms grasped her doll feebly, and the grip strengthened when Rihan woke, looking around like she was dazed for a moment, then murmuring, "Alice? I don't think I want to stay with.. Sandy. She might be sad, and Carly too, but... I don't know, I'm just not them." She sighed sadly, cuddling up in her coccoon of clothes and blankets, the doll's arms draped over her own. She watched Alice with ashamed eyes, because of what she'd tried and how she'd denied it. But she was a child; it was anticipated.
