Hey all,

When I was a 70's kid nearly every week I ended up driving with my parents on Harlem Ave, and I vividly remember a building that was erected on the east side of the road, a little south of Archer. I think it was in the neighborhood of Stark's Military Surplus.

The building was never finished, never opened, never used for any purpose. Rumor had it that it started as a parking garage, may have been considered for office space, and finally forgotten.

It was about 10 stories tall, basically a rectangle, but the most notable feature was the odd roof. It actually stood quite a few feet above the actual top floor. It looked a bit like the carports over an A&W or Steak n Shake parking lot. Flat on top with a center support running down the middle.

I haven't been up there in over 10 years and I understand that the building may have been demolished.

Does anyone remember this monstrosity, have any pics, or know its history?
