Date Posted: 20:35:00 09/13/05 Tue In reply to: Lynne 's message, "Re: This Week, September 6th" on 07:36:36 09/13/05 Tue Army Standard is 60%, and Special Forces Q-course is 80% I think. And Airborne troopers and Rangers are almost required to get 100%. So you meet the standard at 60%. That said, you have two minutes to do that. For pushups, your chest must come within 2 inches of the ground with your back perfectly straight. Or they wouldn't count them. So do the number of reps for 60% for your age in 2 minutes and you qualify to stay in the Army. The marksmanship stuff is really just to have fun and get lots of exercise. We used little airsoft guns for a mock battle on Saturday and I can tell you that it was quite a workout. Really. And it was fun. In fact, I think everyone is looking a getting the expensive weapons. Airsoft is like paint ball but with realistic toy guns that don't leave paint splats. I don't know if this is really your thing Lynne, but if you are ever interested, you can use my equipment. I think you would have made a great soldier. For airsoft, the club will probably buy some guns and rent them. Nice to hear from you. I have kept my workout schedule for 2 months so far, joined the YMCA, and lost 11 lbs. The Wednesday and Saturdays have turned from a formal event to an informal BLAST of all kinds of new events and games. If you ever get a chance, come on over. We will let you know when we get nearer you with an event. Would you like me to put you on the participant list for e-mails every week? >Hi everybody! > >I've been away too long...what the heck is all this >stuff? > >Okay, so I found an Army fitness chart for my >age/gender: > >http://tinyurl.com/d44vz > >But I don't get it...how to read the chart, I mean.
