The Silent & Confused One Speaks. (not really silent &
confused, just a plain 'ole procrastinator) : )

Been doing lots of research and found a bunch of maps,
backcountry sites, trail maps and permit info. Just
gathering the data. Sorry for no information yet.

I did find that the Sand Point to the thumb of Grand Island is actually very unsafe because of the way the current
flows through that area.

My original thought was to camp around Miner's Castle & Miner's falls and hike/snowshoe/ski in & out from there to
the various places the Picture Rocks Lake shore and Grand Island has to offer (lots of cool stuff everywhere. Up the
shoreline (NE) is Beaver Lake area and would be quite the
hike as far as distance and the type of terrain, but might be fun. I was also thinking it would be great to hike from
Sand Point crossing the Lake to Grand Island but after finding that info about the lake's current affecting the
crossing and not allowing the ice to freeze there, I need
to research a little more and then I will have the trip plan
ready to post soon.

Apologize for the delay.
And Government, thanks for all the info! : )

Later!
