This looks like a lot of fun. I'm penciling it in, but I may end up in Alaska instead. Anyone interested in a trip that'd last a solid 17-20 days including transportation and spend time hiking across the Seward Peninsula from either Nome to Cape Wales on the Berring Sea. Or perhaps, a bit shorter and avoids some icky poitnless terrain, Serpentine Springs to Cape Wales (shaves 4 days off the walk). A hundred and some miles of open Alaskan terrain. Nobody but us around. I really want to do this hike, but I want to get a partner to go with me. It'd take a few days to get in and out since things run slower up there. No re-supply for this trip. Probably 12 or so days of hiking; maybe 3-4 of other transporation to and fro (e.g., day to Anchorage, then train or plane to Fairbanks, then to Nome, then to Serpetine Springs; return has daily flights from Cape Wales to Nome and then back towards home over the next couple days. Would be a fantastic trip. Come on... someone must be interested in joining me.
