Subject: Adventure Marathon Date

We will meet at Morley Park in Cedar Springs, Michigan. (Cedar Springs Exit US131, east to intersection of 17 Mile Road and Main Street (Northland Drive) South to Park Enterance. UTM 16T 617496E 4785847N.) From there, we will bike the White Pine Trail (Gravel Rail Trail) (slow 8-10 mph pace) to Morley Michigan and the Little Muskegon River (20.10 miles), Ascend and Rappel the train trestle (instructors available), Canoe to Croton Dam, Construct a tyrolean traverse and cross it. (20.26 miles). Then take the North Country Trail from Croton Dam to the 40th Street Trail Head (hiking about 10.2 miles). This will all be done at an easy pace, but the goal is to travel 50 miles in 24 hours as a group. Plane on headlamps, etc, because if we are behind schedule, night becomes travel time. We will get a minimum of at least 5 hours of sleep and a maximum of 8 hours. We will do this as a team. Helping each other along. It is designed like an adventure race, but is not a race, it is a team effort. Everyone will need their own mountain bike. And we will need canoes. We will need help placing the equipment the night before. Also, if anyone can loan a cargo trailer or other storage trailer to secure the bikes or canoes at their location. We will provide all the ropework gear (bring your own harness if you choose).
