 We were planning pictured rocks area, and maybe hike to the ice caves on Grand Island. I talked to some people of the forums of backpacker.com under the "midwest" forum. The park is pretty much closed in the winter.

I would just go to backpacker, get a topo map, go to the parks website, etc.
