Your thirst would be temporarily quenched BUT your core body temperature would start to lower leaving you a hypothermia victim, quickly.
It's better to take your water along or melt snow over a fire and then drink it. Hey, why not take along a packet of instant hot cocoa and give yourself a carbohydrate boost while you're at it? Drink an additional cup of heated water too.
