Louisiana Tournoi Children’s Beauty Pageant
Contest is open to Louisiana residents

The second Annual Louisiana Tournoi children’s Pageant will be held Saturday,
September 25, 2004 at the Ville Platte Civic Center.
Proceeds go to LA Tournoi Queen Scholarship Fund and LA Tournoi Association.

Entry fee is $25.00
Optional: Most Photogenic $5.00, awarded per category
***photogenic entries will not be accepted after early deadline***
(Pictures may be picked up at the door prior to contest)

Early Deadline is September 20, 2004 (must be postmarked by this date)
Late entries and door entries will be accepted with a $10.00 late fee

Admission: $3.00…5 years and older $1.00… under 5 years

Scores and Comments will be mailed if a self-addressed, stamped envelope is provided AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION. Judges will not be available for comment after the pageant.

The Louisiana Tournoi Queen, Teen Tournoi Queen and Junior Tournoi Queen Pageant
Will be held Sunday, September 26, 2004 at the Ville Platte Civic Center.
Proceeds go to LA Tournoi Queen Scholarship Fund and LA Tournoi Association.

Entry fee:
Junior Tournoi Queen (12-13 years old—age by date of pageant)…$35.00
Teen Tournoi Queen (14 -16 years old --age by date of pageant)…$35.00
Louisiana Tournoi Queen (17-23 years old) …$45.00
A contestant participating in Louisiana Tournoi Queen Division must be single,
Must never have been married, nor given birth to a child. The contestant’s age shall not be
Less than 17(by date of pageant) nor more than 23 years of age on January 1, 2005.

Optional: Most Photogenic… $10.00 fee (will be awarded per category)
Each contestant is asked to submit a 5x7 picture for the people choice award.
(Pictures may be picked up after contest)

Early Deadline is September 20, 2004 (must be postmarked by this date)
Late entries (all categories) and door entries (junior contestants only) will be accepted with $10.00 late fee.

Miss and Teen Contestants’ interview will start at 10:00am at the Ville Platte Civic Center.
Pageant will begin at 6:00pm
Attire: interview suit (a.m.) and formal wear (p.m.)
There will be no interview for Junior Tournoi Queen Division!

Admission:
$5.00 per person (Children 5 and under $1)
Only contestants and visiting royalty will be allowed in free
(Visiting royalty must have crown and banner)

To be eligible to compete for the title of Tournoi Queen, Teen Queen, or Junior Miss Queen
(1) you must not be less than 17 ( by the date of pageant) nor more than 23 years of age on January 1, 2005 for Queen and between the ages of 14 and 16 years of age for Teen Queen and between the ages of 12 and 13 for Junior Queen
(2) you must be single and have never been married or had a marriage annulled.
(3) you must not be pregnant or have never borne a child.
(4) you must be of good moral character and never been convicted of any felony.
(5) you must not hold any other title other than “City Queen” during your “Tournoi” reign.

A “Queen’s Agreement” outlining the rules by which the Tournoi Queens must abide will be sent to each contestant upon receipt of entry fee and form. You must bring this signed agreement with you when you travel to Ville Platte for the competition.

The competition will consist of the following segments
Interview (Miss and Teen Miss only)
On stage Introduction (no more than 30 seconds, biographical information only!)
Evening Gown

Awards for Tournoi Queen will be as follows:
Queen - Custom Crown, scepter, banner, flowers, Tournoi royal collar and mantle, and entry to LAFF Queen of Queens Pageant
1st Maid – trophy and entry fee to Louisiana Cotton Festival pageant
2nd Maid – trophy and entry to Viande Boucannee (Smoked Meat) pageant
Photogenic – crystal picture frame
People's Choice - trophy (people attending will be given the opportunity to vote for a "People's Choice" (popularity vote) for $1/vote (a photo will be needed to post at voting space)

Awards for Teen and Junior Queens will be as follows:
Queen - Supreme Crown, banner, flowers
1st Maid – trophy
2nd Maid – trophy
Photogenic – crystal picture frame
People's Choice - trophy (people attending will be given the opportunity to vote for a "People's Choice" (popularity vote) for $1/vote (a photo will be needed to post at voting space)

Tournoi Queens Competition Tentative Schedule of Events

Early Deadline to Enter – Monday, September 20, 2004 (please send photo for press & People’s Choice)
Final Deadline to Enter – Saturday, September 25, 2004 (a $10 late fee should be added to entry fee)
Queen and Teen Queen Interviews – Sunday, September 26, 2004, 10:00am, Ville Platte Civic Center (Contestants should
arrive fully prepared for interview. A contestant may have only one attendant at the tea/interview during competition.)
Formal Presentation & Competition – Sunday, September 26, 2004, 5:00 pm, Ville Platte Civic Center (All contestants should arrive 45 minutes prior to scheduled start of presentation fully prepared. One guest may help contestant get dressed but once dressed there will be no one allowed to stay with contestant.)
