When we move spiritual growth from individuals to community, the focus of growing in Christ moves from personal betterment to the strengthening of the whole church and the acceleration of the Great Commission.
{A word on "outreach"} Consider Christians in a relationship based on faith in Christ, rather than clique routines: [C]= "community"
(Parden the grouping, but it is necessary)
-
"I love you because of Jesus" ->
Christian <-> Christian
Chrisitan [C] <-> Christian
Christian [C] <-> Christian [C]
Christian -> nonchristian
Christian [C] -> nonchristian
Christian [C] -> nonchristian [C]
"I love this Jesus in you" ->
Christian <-> Christian
Chrisitan [C] <-> Christian
Christian [C] <-> Christian [C]
Christian <- nonchristian
Christian [C] <- nonchristian
Christian [C] <- nonchristian [C]
It is here that can see that a faith based community accomplishes "outreach" and unity among various Christian communities and persons. Jesus told His disciples that the greatest witness they had to the world was their love for one another. That God powered love in a Christian community is never a exclusionary element either, that love will spill out and pour over the sick and needy (spiritual and physical).
