Just got thru these 2 tapes. Pretty good but I thought the content of CJKD was much better. If you have all 3 of his trs titles, you pretty much have most of what's on these 2. The seminar is just him bs-ing with a few guys and that John Saylor is there talking about takedowns and what everyone else is doing and shows better ways. The drills tape doesn't have as many drills as CJKD does. It had that "square hopping" drill that was on one of the other tapes, a pushup drill where you hopped around in diff directions, a cool military type drill where you got down, did a pushup, then jumped up in the air then did it again - it was similar to the one scene in "Full Metal Jacket" where "Pile" f*cks up again and the whole group has to do that drill where you crouch down, shoot your legs behind you then bring them back and stand up. I think Clug added the pushup and the jump, or maybe in the movie they did the pushup too, I can't remember. Then this tennis ball drill where you bounced the ball with your eyes closed and when you heard the ball hit the ground you opened your eyes and had to catch it. Then you ran in place and did the same thing - closed eyes being optional if you run for real while doing it. The hard drills like the pushups or box drill or jumps are only done twice a week. His way of lifting is almost like the "rounds" from Titan training- only he used 6 reps and 10-15 sec rest between sets. First was cleans with dumbells- just picking them up and stopping- powerlifting style, if you press them you have to use lighter weights. Then was the "spider lift" similar to what Pavel teaches only Clug doesn't seem to come down as far as Pavel does. They're harder than sh*t and really hurt the crook of your elbows for a while. Basically you set the barbell on a bench and scoop your arms under it and hold it then do squats. Then he did a version of "box" squats where you squated normally but came down and paused on a bench. I guess it forces you to not use ballistic movement or momentum. Abs was weighted decline situps- I prefer Pavel's program. I can't remember the others. If any of you want I can watch it again and get more detailed. Not much content but it is all VERY hard. He calls it level 1, I'd hate to see level 2.
