Yeah, it was very short and only covered handgun retention. He talked about holding the gun with both hands close to the body- like at your belt and then bring it up and pointing with it in one fluid movement- but if you aren't going to shoot in 2 seconds to bring it back to your belt- so no one can use those fancy disarms on you. When you draw it always stand with your gun away from them and with your one hand sticking out to push them back if they charge- to bring the gun out with one had to the other hand. Don't like fumble for it with both hands or anything like that. In Cooley's tapes he covers it alot better and I think Taylor now has an advanced course on it. In cooley's first set of tapes he talked about if someone charges you to fall back on the ground with your gun close to you and shoot him- not to struggle with him standing up. If you notice, all the dissarms presuppose he's got his arms extended, so (obviously) to retain your gun keep it close. I guess the prevailing habit of shooters is to shoot from the "aiming" standpoint with your arms out. I haven't seen Taylors new tapes or Cooleys second set but if I had a gun I'd definately get them. I'm assuming they cover "shooting from the hip" and things like that so no one can take it away from you. Demi only talked about guns for 8 minutes or so probably just to tease you into comming to one of his seminars or something. Sometimes I wonder when they don't give too much info. Like, Hoch's tape was pretty complete in dealing with the knife and he had tons of other tapes of his own to sell but you never felt like he was just teasing you with techniques- where Demi did.
