Are the brain waves Beta, alpha and then delta? Beta being waking conciousness, alpha - the state you are in when you are emmersed in something- a sporting even or when playing music and you are like "lost" in it, and delta- the sleeping state? That's what I always thought it was.

Years ago I got a Silva Mind tape program where they told how to get to the alpha state and it's like hypnosis. You get really relaxed and then "into" whatever you're doing. You are automatically in that state right when you wake up and right when you fall asleep. Powerlifters get into it when they get psyched up for a lift.

I think Chi is more like attention. I also think it comes natural to someone that is doing what they want to do. When you want to do something you naturally have more energy for it than when you do things you hate. Doing those things somewhat drains you where doing something you like to do gives you energy. As far as the martial arts stuff I think the people that have it are those that LOVE the martial arts like Bruce Lee did. It was his whole life, to a point of course. Some people are so driven that they have it too but those that love it get it alot easier. In brick breaking you do focus beyond the brick, so I guess that show was right.
