He said to her, “Honestly, no. You deserve to hear such words for I always mean what I say. Nikita, I would not dream of taking a lover before our marriage. It is improper and disrespectful.”
“Do you love her? I mean, I am sorry.” She looked away and cursed herself for asking so many questions.
He turned her face back to his. “No. I do not. I do care for her, but I do not love her.”
Nikita was delighted with his answer but had to ask, “Are you capable of loving anything or anyone?”
Michael looked up at the sky for a moment to choose the right answer. “I have not loved for a very long time. I did love at one point in my life, but it turned out to be painful.”
She did not wish to press him. “I am sorry for that.”
He turned to her and asked her the same question, “What about you? Have you ever loved another man?”
Nikita blushed at his question. “I thought I did once. He was my childhood friend you see. And we were going to marry someday and pretend what our life would be like.”
Michael felt this pang of jealousy in his heart for this friend of her. “Where is he, now?”
She answered, “I know not. He is in the military. I thought I loved him, but I realized that I did not.”
He turned her face towards him and asked her softly, “What made you realize you did not love him?”
She stared into his eyes and wanted to express every thing he made her feel. She was petrified to lose her heart to a man who has had so much more life experience than she.
“When I came here and met you, I realized that I have never loved before.”
He saw the emotion in her eyes and it felt like the cold casing around his heart melted away. She was falling for him and he was so happy. He looked down at her lips and back into her eyes. He lightly palmed her face in his hands. His eyes begged for her to let him kiss her and she answered back with a hungry look in her bright blue eyes.
He leaned forward and saw that she was not protesting. His lips touched hers softly and he kissed them ever so lightly. The electricity she was feeling inside of her body multiplied when her lips met his. She kissed him back to let him know her sensations.
She opened her mouth and let his lips do their magnificent dance. His tongue lightly entered into her mouth and she kissed him back. She closed her eyes to enjoy the sensation. She ran her hands through his hair and her body felt so weak that she could hardly move.
They kissed for what seemed like ages until he back away. Her eyes were still closed and she felt her lungs gasping the air for oxygen. She looked at him and all he could see was shock in her eyes.
He really enjoyed kissing her. It has been building since the moment he laid eyes on her and he just had to do it.
“Wow!” She whispered loudly. She still could not regain her composure. He smiled at her respone.
“I am guessing from your response that you enjoyed it.” He was happy because he wanted to do it again and again.
“It was most pleasing Lord Michael. I have never been kissed like that before.” She smiled and told him. “I hope this is all real.”
He leaned forward and kissed her lips passionately once more. He leaned back and got her to focus on his eyes. “This is real. You have captivated me more than you can possibly understand. I have feelings for you I cannot explain right now, but they have awakened in me since I saw you for the first time at the ball.”
“We should head back Lord Michael….before our parents arrive back.” She noted that the sun was going down.
He held her hand and nodded. “I pray I have not frightened you with my actions today.”
She squeezed his hand back. “Of course not. I think we need to learn to believe in each other more. I loved kissing you and cannot wait to do it again.”
He grabbed her hand and smiled. They headed back to the estate so their parents would not discover them unescorted.
