Lord Bauer was trying to come up with a plan regarding his niece, but knew he could not do anything before the wedding took place. She would be surrounded by people and he would not be able to get to her. She was being safeguarded in a house in London under constant supervision. It was a gesture to ensure her virtue was in tact for marriage. Bauer would have to hit her when she moved to East Gate Hall in Kent.
He did not know what he planned to do. He could have her seduced and spoiled for marriage. If the Samuelles got one whiff that she was unfaithful before birthing an heir, she would be thrown out into the streets. Women in arranged marriages usually took place after they had their children. The thing is they would have to get to her before she got pregnant.
“Good morning, Perry.” Jurgen strolled into the dining room. “What is on the agenda for the day?”
“Hello my boy. Just thinking of my plans to get Rosemund. Michael will barely ever be at East Gate after the marriage. There is where his new wife will be most vulnerable and unprotected by her mother and father. Now I simply could just kill her and gain her lands the violent way….”
Jurgen asked curiously, “But you have a better plan?”
“This is where you come in my boy,” Bauer responded. “You are my heir and adopted son. I would rather gain Rosemund through nonviolent means so that the fault lies on the daughter and not on me. You bed his new wife before she has an heir and the Samuelles will have the marriage annulled. The lands will come to me for she will be spoiled for any other suitor.”
Jurgen looked at him and said, “You want me to romance the new wife of Michael?”
Bauer poured a glass of wine and shook his head. A new thought had popped into his head. “Even better. You will impregnate her or give the impression that any child she may carry is not her husband’s. Lady Adrian and my foolish cousin will want a child immediately in order to secure their union. However, your child with her will secure our hold on Rosemund. Then the whole county will slowly fall into my hands.”
Jurgen nodded. “Knowing Michael as I do, he will not want a child right away.”
Bauer smiled, “Exactly. We cannot prevent Nikita from getting pregnant, but we can spoil her before it happens.”
Jurgen was confused. “Have you ever thought that Michael might actually want to sleep with his new young pretty wife? How will he be distracted long enough so that I can complete my objective?”
“I have actually come up with a distraction for young Michael.”
“Who? Michael is not weakened by any woman.” Jurgen was very curious as to his uncle’s plan. “The only way you will get to him is in London when he is doing family business.”
“No...he is vulnerable to one woman and it is not Simone. A few years back, he vacationed in Spain where he met my lovely daughter. He does not know that she is my daughter. They had a wild, passionate affair. He devirginized my daughter and he was forced to leave by the people I had caring for her. He tried for many years to get back to her, but no success came from it. Simone was his first love, but he desperately wanted my daughter. I will see she is brought over and introduced into English society in due time.”
Jurgen thought his plan to be perfect. “She will need a different last name though to protect your interests.”
“Already done. She uses her mother’s name of Vacek. Now we wait till the marriage in complete, then we move in to take Rosemund Hall.”
