Nikita and her family spent most of the week shopping and buying countless items for the wedding. Nikita had bought a whole new wardrobe for her new life. She felt like she never had a moment to herself. There were always constant people in and out of her room.
One week had gone by and she constantly wished to have Michael here with her. She was worried about him and missed his presence. Her wedding was in one week and she would be starting her new life with Michael. She hoped that he would spend a lot of time with her after their wedding. No one would be watching them anymore and they could act as wild as they wanted. She had dreams about Michael and their wedding night.
She had always fears about her first time with a man, but she was eager to share this experience with Michael. She wanted to give herself to him completely. She prayed that he would love her as much in return. She perceived that he did have feelings for her, but he guarded them for some reason. Had he been hurt before or was he taking his mother’s advice on how to run this marriage?
Lady Adrian interrupted her thoughts, “Well hello Nikita. You look absolutely radiant?” Nikita turned and smiled at her. She kissed Nikita on her cheeks. There was a young girl standing behind her close to Nikita’s age. She curtsied to Nikita. “This is my daughter, Angela.”
Nikita smiled and said, “I am very pleased to finally meet you. Have you enjoyed your time in London?”
Angela smiled and opened up, “Yes I most certainly have. May I say that you are so beautiful and I hope that we become closer when you become a part of our family.”
Nikita smiled and held Angela’s hands. “Why thank you so much. I look forward to becoming your sister. You have to show me the ropes on being a Samuelle.”
Adrian smiled at their interactions and excused herself, “Ladies, I must excuse myself. You two enjoy your afternoon together.”
Nikita and Angela smiled as Adrian left the room. When the door closed, Angela breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank God!”
Nikita was surprised, “I beg your pardon.”
Angela responded, “So sorry, but my mother drives me up the wall at times. She has a large stick up her arse and do not tell me you have not noticed it. She is all into her status and behavior. I know she has you groomed as a breeding farm. Why the shocked demeanor?”
Nikita laughed and realized she was going to like this girl very much. “I am just surprised that the daughter of Adrian is not more…..”
Angela laughed back at her and said, “What? Lady like? Please I am not even close to that. My family and their old traditions do not work for me. I heard from my brother Seymour that you were somewhat rebellious as well. Would not blame you if my parents arranged my marriage to a complete stranger. But of course, my brother Michael is the most handsome of men in my opinion.”
Nikita sat down and felt she could finally talk with someone who understood her frustrations of their places in society. “I would think that your parents would have your marriage arranged.”
Angela laughed and said, “Yes maybe. They are more focused on Michael’s than anyone else’s. He is the most important. My brother is a great man and I hope that you can see past all of the titles for the wonderful man inside.”
Nikita blushed and looked at her, “Actually, I already have. Michael and I have spent some significant time together and I have come to….well…”
Angela widened her eyes and smiled, “You are falling for him? I thought Seymour was over exaggerating. Michael is wonderful. I thought Michael would be stuck with a simpering, obedient wife. It relieves me to know you love him.”
Nikita blushed to a shade of rose. “Yes well I do not know if he feels the same for me. He has so much more life experience than I”
Angela grabbed her hands and tried to reassure her, “ I will not lie and say my brother does not know women. He is a ladies man for sure. However my brother has a great capacity to love. He has been hurt before, but I would not doubt his heart. Just be you and see what happens. In time, you may be very shocked.”
Nikita responded, “I can tell you I think you and I will be good friends.”
Angela whispered, “Michael is arriving in London with Brighton tomorrow. I could arrange a moment with him. I know you are not supposed to see him until your wedding day, but I can get him a few minutes with you.”
Nikita threw her arms around Angela. “Thank you! That would be most wonderful. I have missed him so.”
Angela smiled and knew she was going to like the new member of their family.
