In reply to: Loveroy 's message, "Thank You My Dear, here it goes..." on Wednesday, December 14, 05:40:32pm

An old Sinatra tune played on the radio, the piercing sound of a trumpet trailing through the speakers with a sultriness reminiscent of an old lover’s comfortable caress. Nikita awoke from her nap and shuddered at the sensation of phantom arms that had held her closely in a dance. Suddenly the young woman found herself in a state of disconcerting confusion given that the reverie she just experienced seemed surreally factual.

She rushed off the couch to check the date and time on the television’s viewing-guide channel to confirm she was not wallowing in some unknown time warp. Relieved to verify that it was still the same date as when she had drifted off to sleep, she closed her eyes wanting desperately to return to her recurring dream. But all she could recall was the giggling little girl, the boy playing the drums and the astonishingly handsome man who melted her soul.

Who was the green eyed individual who she was obsessing over and constantly dreaming about? Lately he always starred in her dreams as her knight in shinning armor and even haunted her waking imagines with his strong persona. Her Psychologist called it an Idolized Mental Picture, she just plain called it fantasizing given that the green eye stranger was worth daydreaming about. He was taller than her, handsomer than anyone she had been with since forever, treated her with respect and married her – what more could a girl want.

The jingling of a charm bracelet flustered her once more and she shot up from her sloping position for suddenly she was face-to-face with a beautiful Asian woman who stood right in the middle of her tiny living room. Nikita started to ask who the woman was and realized this was one of her visions, an apparition of a poor soul who wanted something and she would soon find out what that was. The blonde woman forgot her dream and concentrated instead on her reality – as odd as it was most of the time.

“Hello, can you see me?” The phantom asked.

Nikita crossed her arms and answered patiently, “Yes I can.” And then, “Who are you?”

The spirit spoke once more, “Oh good, I knew Sarah wouldn’t send me to the wrong being. My name is Simone and I am here to help Sebastien’s father crossover and wondered if you could possibly warn Giles for me?”

“Giles?” Nikita asked.

“Oh sorry, it is a long story, but suffice it to say that we have walked together before, perhaps under different names…”

Nikita asked more confused still, “You and I? You mean we knew each other in another life?”

“Yes, of course. One continues meeting those who you have known; that is, until you get it right.” The spirit said.

“Get what right?” Nikita asked a bit exasperated with the ghostly figure, “I am sorry but you have got to start from the beginning if you expect me to help you.”

“I understand, sorry.” The soul said and smiled, “Giles was my husband, a beautiful green-eyed man…”

Nikita interrupted again, “Green eyes…”

“Yes - now we need to remind him that it is an invasion…”

The phone rang and a startled Nikita who briefly turned to look at the phone and then turned back to the essence, realizing she was gone. Sebastien was on the phone because he was on his way to the police precinct the blonde had told him about, and was lost. The man continued with his narration of the route he was taking and how Montreal had changed dramatically in the years since he had been gone.

As she gave the man directions, Nikita blinked repeatedly in hope that her apparition would come back. Once more Sebastien asked Nikita to meet him after he finished visiting with the police and Nikita acquiesced. Nikita wanted Sebastien off the phone as quickly as possible, to be able to go back to her nap and perhaps her dream or in the alternative reconnect with the specter and see about this Giles she needed to speak with.

Simone was nowhere to be found, her essence missing from Nikita’s living room, the apparition over. The Asian woman looked surprisingly familiar to the blonde and since Nikita believed in the after life, she was sure the woman was correct and that they had met before. The blonde, against her will, started getting dress to go meet Sebastien at the coffee shop.
