In reply to: Loveroy 's message, "I Remember Sarah - Chapter 15 forward (NT)" on Thursday, September 15, 03:17:55am

On the perfectly manicured front yard of Michael and Elena’s home sat a colorful jungle gym with all sorts of plastic and rope fun contraptions. Sarah and Simone rested on the twin swings not moving but watching instead as Nikita and Michael got off the motorcycle and made their way quietly towards the large wooden front door. The phantasms were saddened and so worried for the welfare of the handsome couple, since they knew that a period of great sorrow and anxiety was about to commence for everyone concerned.

Simone spoke with her counterpart on the opposite swing, “You know nothing good can come of this visit.”

Dwelling in her own consternation Sarah commented, “Of course I know that my brother is going to be conflicted, Elena is going to be betrayed and Nikita is going to be destroyed, but I bet that love will conquer all.”

A softly spoken woman, considerably older than Simone or Sarah, but just as dead, spoke in an accented tone to the younger women, “Give Elena some credit, she is not as naïve or weak as you two make her out to be.”

The friends were surprised at realizing that they were not alone in the yard of Michael’s marital home. They watched with interest as the exotic elegant newly arrived spirit addressed them almost in a reprimanding way. The two younger women were obviously not privy to the same Intel as the tanned woman, so they decided that it was time to listen. First they needed to learn her identity.

Succinctly and to the point Sarah asked the woman, “You have us at a disadvantage, we don’t know who you are, although you do look familiar?”

The woman moved forward, the 9-mm pearl necklace she wore swung ever so slightly as she approached the girls, “I must apologize for my lack of etiquette, I am Mrs. Vacek, Elena’s mother and by the way… Madeline’s aunt.”

The younger ghosts, mouths agape, introduced themselves as if it was necessary to do so since they realized that the woman had her own agenda and probably knew their identities. She was refined, like Elena and she had an uncanny resemblance to S1 second in command. Her face contorted in joy as the door to the house swung open and a happy little boy ran out shouting greetings to his father who swoop him up in his arms for a hug. A beautiful little girl toddled behind holding a pair or Madame Alexander dolls and was equally soon held by the delighted man.

The moment was filled with great emotions from the living as well as from the dead; Mrs. Vacek reveled in her grandchildren’s enthusiasm, while Sarah and Simone felt conflicted with the kid’s role in this regrettable situation. On the other side of life were reality resided, Nikita felt like a thief for stealing a father from his son and wondered who the little girl was. Michael felt like a cad for his deception towards the boy, which would eventually serve to wreck the child’s young life, and hoped that his daughter was too young to remember this fateful part of her life.

Elena appeared as if by magic on the frame of the door, smiling politely at Nikita when their eyes met, just as Michael with both kids in tow, greeted his wife with a slow warm kiss that seemed to the blonde to go on forever. The happy family scene drove a stake through Nikita’s heart and she felt like running until she heard an inner voice advising her to stay put. She was not a quitter, her stepmother had taught her to be constant and she was not about to let the woman down, especially since her inner voice sounded just like Adrian Jones – “This too shall pass my dear, Michael loves you.”

Elena was beautiful, exotic and refined; everything that Nikita felt she was not when old feelings of self-doubt came rushing to the forefront of the blonde’s thought process. Michael wanted to run also, as he felt Elena hunker down and show loads of public displays of affection that she usually shied away from. The old green eye monster – jealousy – was dominating the moment the demure woman unnecessarily groped and manhandled her unenthusiastic husband, just to show Nikita who Michael belonged to.
