Nikita sat propped up in bed, playing a computer game on a laptop. A sudden breeze blew the curtains back on the patio window. Nikita sighed and closing the computer, wandered over to the window and slid the door completely closed. As she pulled the curtain tight, something caught her eye in the courtyard below.
Hummmm....what was that? Maybe just the security men doing a perimeter check....come on Nik, youíre so bored, youíre seeing things now!
She returned to the bed and opened the laptop again and continued with her game of computer Mah Jong but looked up across the room after making two moves. Her morning run had done little to push the memory of last nightís erotic dream from her mind. She stared at the screen blankly.
Why on earth am I constantly thinking about sex with Michael! This is ridiculous....Iím driving myself crazy....nobody can be this horny just because the man is down the hall....no, knowing Michael....heís probably still in computer systems. Iíve got to stop having dreams like that one....itís unhealthy. When Iím actually back in London....away from the villa and Michaelís presence, Iím certain these damn dreams will cease.
Nikita shifted on the bed and closed the computer.
ďI canít deny the sex was fantastic....the best ever.....oh gawd Nik! Stop!Ē
Nikita swung her legs from the bed and walked to the patio window. She flung the curtain back and pulled open the door letting the sea breeze sweep into the room. The cool air felt good.
ďIíll leave the window open to cool the room....itís very hot in here tonight.Ē
Nikita dimmed the lights and strolled to the bathroom. After brushing her teeth, she pulled off her clothes and padded back to the bed, clad only in her panties. She lay on top of the duvet and stared at the ceiling.
Oh please let me go to sleep without thinking about...him! Maybe I should take a sleeping tablet....no....I hate taking them.....Iíll just lie here and listen to the waves....and the gulls....they will lull me to sleep.
Nikita dozed into a light, fretful sleep for a few hours. She twisted onto her side and slowly opened her eyes, trying to focus on the illuminated clock: it was 3am. Something had woken her - a noise, outside.
Am I hearing things....the damn security guys talking or something?
Nikita rose and padded in the darkened room to her patio window. She peered into the black courtyard - nothing but a dark void. She sighed and was just about to close the window, when a small flash of light caught her eye. Carefully pulling the curtain closed, she peered again into the courtyard.
Why are the security guys poking around at 3am? They donít usually do perimeter sweeps all night....unless there is a reason. Damn...wish I had some night vision goggles to see better.
Well....Iím going to go check....Iím awake anyway.
Nikita pulled on some jeans and a sweater and slipped out the door of her suite. She walked through the dark hallway towards the front door. Suddenly, she heard the sound of a metal device being inserted into the lock. Ducking into an alcove next to the door, she stood barefooted and wondering what she had been thinking - investigating this by herself. The front door swung open and four men dressed in black complete with balaclavas and night vision goggles crept into the villa. Nikita pressed back into the wall, inhaling her breath.
How the hell did they get past the guards at the gate....and the security men? Iíve got to alert....Michael....but I need a weapon....how the hell is this happening? Some kind of security this villa has!
As the men disappeared down the hallway, Nikita peaked around the alcove and tiptoed back towards her suite; she stood outside her door, straining to listen for sounds of the intruders.
She slid into her suite and darted into the bedroom. Pulling open a bedside drawer, she pulled out a glock with a silencer and jammed the clip into the gun base. Michael had insisted she keep the gun in the drawer when they first arrived at the villa. She felt around the drawer for another clip, but her hand only found a box of condoms. Smiling, she quietly closed the drawer.
Now....will Michael be in his room or the computer room? Maybe I should try contacting him on his cell....but....what damn number is he using now!
Nikita crept from the suite into the darkened hallway; she stood, straining to hear any sounds. Suddenly, the unmistakable popping sounds of a gun with a silencer was heard downstairs. She darted down the staircase, ducking behind every doorway and alcove. As she approached the computer systems room, she could see the outlines of two bodies lying on the tiled floor. She approached carefully, keeping close to the floor. The bodies were two of Michaelís security men, shot through the head.
Why on earth didnít they see these men coming! Or hear them!
Nikita crept towards the systems room: two of the four men were propping up a security guard, using his iris to open the door for the computer room.
Oh my god! If Michael is in the room....heíll never hear them coming....the room is totally soundproofed. But....maybe heís not even in there....maybe heís gone to bed....in his room....or....
The men dropped the dead security man and kicked the heavy door open as the latch released; the sounds of popping echoed as the men shot wildly into the room. Nikita heard one of the men shout loudly.
ďItís him! Kill him!Ē
Nikita dashed towards the open door, crouching and pointing her gun; she fired as two of the men swung around in surprise. She let off two shots and fell to the floor on her stomach, frantically straining to see if Michael was in the room. Another shot rang out towards the intruders from the direction of the main control panel; the room was illuminated with a blue glow and the sound of breaking glass reverberated in the air. Nikita scrambled to conceal herself behind a fallen chair. A shot from the intruders buzzed over her head. Quickly rolling across the floor, she sought protection behind a metal disc file. Her eyes became accustom to the blue glow in the room as one of the intruders bolted towards the door. Nikita aimed and fired: the man dropped face down and did not move. She slid on her back towards another file cabinet as a gun with a silencer, popped rounds into the cabinet. Nikita rolled quickly in the opposite direction, firing directly at the man now making his way towards the open door. He spun around, his gun firing into the ceiling, as he fell with a loud crash to the floor. Nikita slowly rose to a crouch and crept towards the men, kicking her guns away and checking to see if they were still alive: all were dead. Nikita swung around to the main control panel: a body lay sprawled across the keyboard. She raced over and leaned down to see blood trickling over the personís face: it was Michael.
ďMICHAEL! NO! NOOOOOOO.......!Ē
