Most people mess my name up for some reason.

The mountains I live in are probably not what you are thinking of. It's dry here so the trees are pinon pine and juniper ...they rarely get over 12 or 15 feet hight. We are just below 7000 feet but it gets over 100 degrees at the height of summer. The hill behind our house is uplifted sea bed. There are fossils in the rocks ...and rocks in the drinking water (lots of dissolved calcium). There are lots of plants and birds, but it dries out in the summer.

It's more than we could ever have afforded in Colorado but there are some not so nice things about the area that we would not have had to tolerate in Colorado either. Still, we really like the property.

Ian drives about 25 miles to work and I do about 30. It's very pretty sometimes and very frightening at other times due to lots of crazy drivers, many of them long distance semi drivers. It's also got some of the scariest winter driving I've ever seen. Last winter was something else. I was creeping through a blizzard on the interstate and before I knew it I was on the side road ... first time I've ever gotten on an on ramp and not known it. The worst of it is that the people in Albuquerque have a tendency to shut down the way home every time there is a snow or a bad accident. Nothing is perfect, I guess.
