There is a post on a British movie forum that Platinum Disc Corp is going to release on 2 DVD's in July 2005, the remaining un-released episodes of the TV series Adventures of Long John Silver. I cannot find anything to confirm this on the web. Platinum Disc Corp do not have a website so it's difficult to find out anything about their releases. Has anyone heard anything about this or know how to contact Platinum to confirm or deny this?

I am trying to find out something about these episodes. I can get into Platinum Disc Corp's website but there does not seem to be a way to contact them either through email or phone. I moved down in one of their DVD menus and it took me out to BestPrices.Com. There I was able to submit a question but they came back with the information on purchasing the original 13 episodes. I then explained that I was talking about the remaining episodes. However, they have no information on them. I will still try to see if I can in some way contact Platinum Disc Corp. I will let you know if I get any info.

See the link below on the Best Buy site. A 2 disc DVD LJS release of June 2005. Is this news episodes or the originals re-released? Can someone in the US call Best Buy and find out please? I'm in England.

I have sent an email to Best Buy and am waiting for a response. I see what you mean because the release date is 6/7/05, otherwise the cover of the disc set looks the same as the original one. I have a feeling that it is the original group of episodes because there has been no advertisement of a new release. I will be in touch when I get a response.

I am not having much luck trying to find out any info from Best Buys about this DVD. I have called and emailed and both responses are that the distributor does not list the episodes and therefore Best Buys does not know which episodes the DVD contains. Personally I have never heard of this practice. Most DVD's that I have searched for that have multiple movies or episodes on them will list them so that you know what you are purchasing. I guess we will just have to wait for a comment from someone who purchases this version to let us know what is in it. IF ANYONE HAS THIS VERSION OF THE LJS TV SERIES, PLEASE LET US KNOW WHAT EPISODES IT CONTAINS!!

Isn't this a crazy situation? It seems that Platinum Disc Corp. is difficult to deal with. Check this article out.

I just want you to know that I have not yet given up on this DVD. I stopped at a Best Buy yesterday and checked out the DVD's. The only LJS DVD I found was a 4 disc version that has the original 13, already released, LJS TV series and a Robinson Crusoe series. This has a release date of 4/5/05. I still have not found the one that we saw online that had the release date 6/7/05. I will continue to look.

This is to Michelle. Read these messages that went back and forth this summer regarding the remaining episodes of the TV series Long John Silver. There is a version of this series distributed by Platinum Disc Corp with a release date I think was sometime in July 2005. However, I cannot find out which episodes it contains. I have written to Best Buy and they cannot confirm the names of the episodes or even how many it contains.
If I ever do find out about them I will certainly post it here.
