It comes directly from Casey's. Unless you've examined Casey, Hardee and Gilham's closely you won't be able to tell the differences in them. They are 99 percent identical to each other. The differences concern how battalions of skirmishers are used.

As much as I berate Casey as being a pirate of Hardee's manual, his configuration for the two skirmish companies - the end companies - has merit. The regiment has two majors. One is for infantry of the line while the other commands the two skirmish companies or a battalion of skirmishers.
