Classroom management has definitely been a concern of mine. Crowd control is not my forte. I want to be kind and liked by my students, yet somehow establish a rapport that requires respect and discipline. In one of my grad classes this past summer I spoke with a high school choir director that was considering completing a literature review on classroom management for music educators. She was unable to find enough information and empirical research to utilize that topic. I believe that alone suggests that classroom management has not been a priority in the field of education.

I agree that we do not nearly get enough special education training. Even a cheat sheet/packet that would describe different disorders and their symptoms would be helpful. As far as classroom management, I don't know if we can learn much more about it in class. I believe half of a classroom management strategy is related to one's personality.
