El próximo 2 de octubre, en el Centro Cultural de Valle de la Pascua,
Estado
Guárico, se realizará la elección de "Miss Antillas Venezuela 2004". En
esta
edición se contará con algunas representantes de los estados de
Venezuela.
Todas las participantes estarán viajando el próximo año a eventos
internacionales. La ganadora viajará dos veces y representará a
Venezuela en
el Miss Antillas Internacional 2005 a celebrarse el 16 de julio en
Roatan,
Islas de la Bahia (Honduras); Trinidad y Tobago, Canouan, Islas Caimán
o en
Venezuela. En la foto, la candidata del Estado Falcón, Palmira Luchon,
una
estudiante del signo Acuario, de 1.60 m de estatura y medidas de
81-60-89.
Palmira sustituye a la señorita Karelis Romero, quien en un principio
representaría a Falcón en esta justa de belleza.

Bus services link Thailand and Laos

Bus services linking Nong Khai and Udon Thani provinces with Vientiane across the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge begin next month.

The Nong Khai-Vientiane route is about 30 kilometres, Udon Thani-Vientiane 80, which takes just over an hour, excluding time spent at the border.

One-way fares will be Bt30 and Bt80, respectively.

Foreign visitors with the proper visas and other travel documentation will also be able to ride the buses back and forth across the border.

The transport companies run by Thailand and Laos will each operate two daily round-trip services on each route.

Thailand’s Transport Co Ltd has 45-seat air-conditioned buses.

Thai-Laos marathon

The Tourism Authority of Thailand and its equivalent in Laos are planning a Nong Khai-Vientiane marathon on Sunday May 23.

The event is aimed at celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Thai-Laos Friendship Bridge and to promote tourism in the area.

It is expected over 10,000 people will take part in the event in four categories: full marathon (42.195k), half marathon (21.11k), mini marathon (10.5k) and 3km walk.
