Date Posted: 13:59:14 06/24/04 Thu MANILA BULLETIN JUNE 25, 2004 Scuttlebutt Shirley Pizarro We’ve heard of another great possibility of teaming up two of the country’s giants in the movie world, the diamond star Maricel Soriano and the megastar Sharon Cuneta. We heard that Star Cinema is very much interested to put the superstars together in one legendary film on the occasion of the film outfit’s anniversary. Although nothing as of yet is concrete (of course we all know that Sharon has to give birth first to her third daughter in September), we were told that Star Cinema will gather together the best in this singular film — the best director, included. We asked Maricel’s manager Wyngard [Tracy] about this possibility and he told us that they, too were told about this plan, although nothing is confirmed, yet. "But whatever it is," Wyngard said, "I want the roles of the girls to be as offbeat as possible in this film. The usual drama scripts just won’t work anymore. To my mind, I have something like Susan Sarandon’s and Goldie Hawn’s ‘Banger Sisters’ or something like that for this project. I hope it pushes through. Let’s see," he said. On the subject of Maricel, Wyngard said he had to turn down another offer from Regal Films. "It was supposed to be another movie with Eric Quizon, I think another gay role for him, and under the direction of Joel Lamangan again. Same team behind ‘I Will Survive.’ No offense meant, but we want something different naman," he said. ===== FYI, the role went to Kris Aquino and the movie's working title is Que Sera Sera, currently filming.
