I have been tutoring adult literacy for a few years and find it a most delightful way to volunteer. I now tutor GED classes and have my first student who admits to a diagnosis of dyslexia. What are some pointers to help get this student on a fast track to math proficiency and language arts proficiency?
I have heard that black and white text is hard to read. Will a tinted plastic over the page help if this is so?
Should class time be maximum time to allow practice or does introducing the material and private study work better?
