I have played a game with a child on a one to one with a game called cvc pairs. Making pairs of three letter words such as: can, bag, log, bus, hit, and rat. Turning them face down on the table. The aim of the game is to turn two over, read and match. If two words are different they are then replaced in the same position face down. The player has to remember where the words were, if correctly chosen a pair the player wins another go.
As with all games played with dyslexic children, trying to arrange things so that the child always wins. This boosted the child�s self esteem, boosting confidence and increased the incentive to complete the task.
