How many times do we hear teachers comment that are worried about a child's progress.I would like to share this experience when I was working in a class of 5 year old girls. in this class there is a child who made us all confused. She is a confident and popular child with good leadership skills. She can sing, act, dance and can speak 3 languages fluently. she is very caring, cooperative and has a vast amount of knowledge. However this child had difficulties with her writing and reading , skipping lines, copying badly from the board, being very disorganzied, getting out the wrong books. At first the teacher thought that the child was playing up in order to get attention, but she soon realized that the child had difficulties which were showing signs of dyslexia. Luckly this child was noticed by a teacher who was well informed about difficulties that children with dyslexia face, and was given proper intervention.
