The first place to start is to get a qualification, there are lots of info on the internet, i have just started a level 2 TA course which i am doing from home while i am still working full time, there are no exams or practial work involved just assesments which are emailed to your online tutor.
Cost of courses range from £300-£500 depending on who you choose to work with.
Once you have the qualification you are then able to apply for any vacancies.
good luck!
