I support in English lessons and had a look at the book of one student with dyslexia and one without.
I noticed the non-dyslexic had written perfectly on each line with evenly spaced words. The letters were all the same size and the handwriting was very neat and easy to read.
When I looked at the work of the dyslexic student, I could immediately see the difference. Although the hand writing was fairly neat, the words were not all written on the line. In fact, a lot of them were just above the line (in between the two lines). They had capital letters in the middle of words and the words were not evenly spaced, making it quite difficult to read.
I have provided the dyslexic student with some handwriting sheets to help then see how each letter should be formed and have been encouraging them to use cursive writing to help with the flow of letters and spelling.
