I join this discussion a little late but Patti I agree with you. Percy's mother had the right idea. I don't think I'd go as far as Simon's mother did. A bulky nappy under a skirt would slow down a ball boy's response time too much for my liking and we do need the boy to respond quickly after all. But, if you're old enough to remember those ludicrous frilly bottomed tennis knickers we had to wear as girls then I don't see why a modern day 'skirted' ball boy shouldn't be expected to wear the same. A little flash of botty frills could be quite appealing to the female eye as the boy races across the court after a stray ball. Just a thought.
