Daniel wonders what mothers were thinking when exposing their sons private parts to the view of visiting friends. I suppose if a boy had just been beaten and friends happened to call or were there anyway they would get to see the boy's genitals after the beating when he stood up. Mothers are used to seeing a boy naked and usually this is at bath time. I remember when I was 11 years old my school mistress told the class that we should all be old enough to bath ourselves. I relayed this to my mother who stopped supervising my bath, much to my relief as I was getting erections whenever I stood up and she started to towel me dry.
It seems to me that at the onset of puberty a mother should generally respect a boy's privacy, but if the boy misbehaves he forfeits his privacy as being beaten on the bare bottom is a just punishment, and of course naturally will reveal his genitals.
Daniel says he usually became erect when neighbours and friends were asked to look at his red bottom, and I can see that this natural reaction would be a severe embarrassment and would lead to tears of humiliation.
