Thanx for the reply. Yes, almost impossible, I would say!
They must be school kids as they are there after 4.30 pm weekdays and some Saturdays.

I too, am getting fed up with the noise from the hill above Hendrefoilan. Something must be done, or some locals will take matters to hand.
Arthur.

As previously stated we are attending calls all the time. And as you can appreciate it is impossible to catch these offenders on foot.

what we need from locals are names and addresses so we can identify the offenders and take appropriate action.

Arthur could you explain in full what you mean by

"will take matters to hand"?

There were 2 youths, 1 bike there this afternoon around 5pm - getting soaked to the skin!!

As for 'taking matters to hand' Mr No Name, ridiculous and potentially illegal! If you cannot name yourself then don't bother posting!

Arthur - My post is meant for you and I mistakenly thought your post was the one with 'No Name' So - May I now state that locals should abide by the law and as PCSO Brown states ~ we should all try & identify these kids!

Last year I was able to follow one of those bikes back to an address nearby, and reported that fact. The year before I was on the hill with my dogs when the bikes arrived & my lurcher chased a bike, to find himself then being chased and nearly killed. I was able to reason with those boys, and got an apology by being reasonable and non-confrontational - even tho' I was incensed by their actions.

cyfrin you are totally right members of the public cannot, and must not take matters into their own hands .As previously stated the matter is in hand .

This weekend you will see an extra police presence at dunvant square. We were kindly allowed to use the scout hall to hold a police surgery and the main topic of concern was off road motor bikes .we have been given 5 names of persons who are beleived to be using off road motorbikes in the area.We will follow up this information and take necessary action if need be .

We all should be vigilant, and any info you have however small it may be please let us know. This subject is very hard to police and we need us much local knowledge as we can possibly get. please keep in touch.

Much noise now the holidays are here!

I called it in Sat afternoon, as I also needed some advice after witnessing a vehicle accident in the village. Cockett Station called me back to say someone is dealing. Then I had another call from traffic police who said they were on their way but may be some time as they were coming from Bridgend (nearest to deal!) I told them it wasn't THAT important!

The hills are alive to the sound of .............BIKES again! It won't be long before they set fire to it again - I am surprised it hasn't happened yet.
