Monique, I'm a Region Recruiter for a large bank and currently living with my fiancee. I agree that it's challenging to balance both, but I think it helps when your mate is willing to chip in on the home front.

I don't necessarily work a lot of overtime, but my days are exhausting a lot of the time due to the time pressures and the intensity of the job. I come home mentally tired every day.

I like to cook, so that helps. I usually cook every other day allowing for a day of leftovers in between. My fiancee is a great guy and sometimes gets home before me, so he doesn't have a problem with cooking dinner or at least starting it. If I cook, he'll sometimes wash the dishes, but since he hates cleaning the kitchen we traded off. I hate cleaning the bathroom, so we'll do each other's 'dirty work'. It's amazing how helpful that is.

I think you should also spready the home work around. Don't try to be superwoman and do all your house cleaning or chores in one day. Narrow everything down to its own day. For example, vaccuuming on Tuesdays, dusting on Fridays, laundry on Saturdays. This will eleviate you feeling overwhelmed and it gives you time to spend with your honey.

I hope this helps. Good luck.
