Both riders were about waist-deep in the water, scrubbing their dragonets Salay and Barronsaln, while the older Kinapp and Brutisies had ventured out deeper.

"Stay still, Saln, will you? If you keep moving around like that, I'll never get you clean!" A'rian cried out in surprise as the little green suddenly flailed his wings, spraying water all over.

"Having trouble there, 'Rian?" Keira grinned, draping an arm around Salay. The green was being her usual ladylike self, and her eyes whirled in amusement as she watched her clutchmate.

But I want to go swim, Brutisies gets to! Barronsaln wriggled away from his lifebond and ducked under the small waves.

That will come later, little brother, Brutisies laughed, watching A'rian try to chase down the dragonet, mumbling, "I get the excitable one."

I heard that! Barronsaln piped up indignantly. Keira hid a laugh, hearing the whole conversation, amplified double by Kinapp and Salay.

"And I heard that, Keir," A'rian mock glared at her.

Then, all erupted into one great splash as A'rian
tackled Keira, pulling her under, just as Barronsaln launched a water attack on Salay. After a moment's hesitation, Kinapp and Brutisies joined in the madness.
