An earthquake hit in the city of Bam killing a large amount of people most of whom were buried alive under the rubble. The earthquake measured 6.3 on the scale. This powerful earthquake happened at 5:28 am local time and destroyed 60% of the buildings in Bam. At least 20 rescue teams came to help remove the rubble and help assist the victims. There were 2 aftershocks which were measured at 5.3 and 4.5.

“There is no room for terrorists in our country and no one will cross the borders” said Abdollah. Time magazine is saying that Iran is helping Osama Bin Laden give shelter to his 4 wives and 12 children at the time when the United States was hunting his down in Pakistan and Afghanistan. “Osama Bin Laden is responsible for the September 11 attacks” said US officials. Many people think that he is still alive.

Iran is warned of serious water shortages in Tehran which is an overpopulated capital. Iran has had 2 droughts in a row and are expecting the worst to come in 30 years. Farming and livestock sectors have been severely damaged and millions of people displaced. Iranian officials estimate the damage to be 3.5 billion. The city of Tehran owns only 2% of water resources.
