They are strong in population under 15, life expectancy, and seats in Parliament held by women.

>2. Excluding the US, are there any glaring desparities
>(big differences) between countries of the South Asia?
Population using adequate sanitation and seats in Parliament held by women have large differences.

>3. Give an overall assessment of how South Asia
>appears to be doing in these areas of development.
Overall, South Asia has low and high percentages in places where it should be the opposite.

>4. Pick two stats and compare and contrast how South
>Asia is doing compared to the Middle East.
Population using adequate sanitation and adult literacy rate are the stats I chose. The Middle East has much higher percentages for adequate sanitation and adult literacy rate, making it a more desireable place to be from my point of view. If judging the regions based on those to stats, the Middle East is a much better place to be in, because it would seem to be in a better position.
