South Asia is strong in the GDP (PPP).
>2. Excluding the US, are there any glaring desparities
>(big differences) between countries of the South Asia?
The is a difference between the countries of South Asia. In India in the HDI Ranking it is in the negatives and the other countries are in the positives.
>3. Give an overall assessment of how South Asia
>appears to be doing in these areas of development.
South Asia is doing fairly well in the areas of development. They are pretty low in some areas and high in others. So it just depends, but overall they are doing pretty well.
>4. Pick two stats and compare and contrast how South
>Asia is doing compared to the Middle East.
The GDP in the Middle East and South Asia is high, but the Pop. using adequate sanitation in South Asia is really low compared to the Middle East.
