Subject: New to Trading. Live seminars as opposed to home study?

I am new to trading so I thought I would take a seminar. I found a company called teach me to trade. I took their three day seminar for only $200.00. Very intense and well worth the money, or so it seemed. The master classes are of course around $4,000.00. The following seminars are for advanced chart reading and options trading as well as asset protection all focused on swing trading. My question is, are the live seminars a benefit over what I can learn here and in books. Has anyone had any experience with this company or with live seminars. Are they worth it? I am trying to get as much feedback and opinions as possible from every direction before I make an investment to learn this. I would imagine those who are making alot of money may not be willing to give any advice. I hope I am wrong. I desperately wish to find a way out of the factory life. Who do you trust with everyone trying to make a buck off of you? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank You Jeff Schneider...
