This is a fan-fiction I made on a web site. It is called: Lord of the Rings: Sci-Fi. It starts off introducing you to a journal by a professor on another planet, and then it jumps into Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli's story back on Middle Earth. Enjoy! :)
Here is it translated the journal of a Sokavian Professor known as the leader, Ravar.
Day Three of Hearth
JiHiWian Planet known as Xexrix's armies attacked our headquarters today. They nearly killed one of our most prized Warriors of all the Sokavians, Malice, as he lead our Jutt'Kari to battle. We were able to recover Malice from the battlefield. Hopefully we can revive him from the last flicker of life in his body.
Day Seven of Hearth
Malice's body still lies in the Cybernetics Core waiting to be repaired and altered scientifically. They say that he is alive enough to be completly revived, and they can even add on a few things to him. His jaw and mouth were completly replaced with a robotic Drone-Jaw left over from one of our broken Drones. They even added two Stun-guns to his forehead that are activated by his brain! Amazing, what science has uncovered to the Sokavians. No wonder planet Cyborg is the most technologic planet in all of JiHiWi.
Day Twenty-One of Hearth
Malice has been activated and is doing well in his new form. He has even gotten out into the Wild of Cyborg and told us that he found a new Warp Rift, activated, and could lead to other planets. But it is uninportant unless the Warp Rift is connected to Xexrix. It would be terrible to destroy a Warp Rift if so, it could explode and destroy Cyborg.
Day Thirty-Four of Hearth
With further study, we have modified our previously built Cloning Chamber. We had created renewable DNA Filter liquid and Filtering Tanks in which to place the host. The beam ray modifies the DNA liquid and transferrs it into a living clone. The beam then goes over the body again as directed, rebuilding and modifying the clone into a different enhanced copy. We do this so the clone is less hostile when we give it orders, and it will obey.
Day Five of Flamesbred
We are afraid to test our design for the Cloneing Chamber. We want to clone Malice, but it would be a shame to lose him. We must test it on an outsider. If we are able to, then we can create an army of Malices!
Day Nine of Flamesbred
We have figured out that there is in fact a shortage of cloning Filter Liquid. Though it is renewable it takes time to harvest, and it would be much better (and more manageable) if we made just one clone of Malice. But first we need to find an outsider to test it with. If so, we can fight in this war against Xexrix. If we destroy Xexrix, we can conquer JiHiWi and all of its contents! We must be the first planet with Cloning devices!
Day Eleven of Flamesbred
In addition to the cloning chamber, we made altering clones more sophisticated. Now we can chose just how we want to alter the scientific data of the clone's DNA.
Day Fifteen of Flamesbred
We are making plans for our war strategy. We attack Xexrix with full force of all our cloned minions. Then we replenish forces and advance to the next closest planet, Duros. Then Catastrophe, then we skip Cryometro as no one lives there. Then Nuuvidian, and so on in a reverse-clockwise direction.
End of Journal Contents.

Chapter One- Through a portal of Space
The Wind of the South blew steadily through the air, casting a warm breeze that stirred the ground and made the grass alive. Aragorn looked at the shore of Gondor, its steady rising and falling ocean almost lulling him to sleep. The distant cry of the seagulls sounded on the oceanline, the sea grass rolling along with every breeze. Aragorn loved it in his kingdom, it was a place he loved to rule over. He walked through the sand, its squishy, wet, but smooth surphace was pleasing to his bare feet.
He looked up into the air for a second, the cloudless sky was bluer then he had seen it since the storm yesterday. Weather had changed dramatically, and it was so strange it was scary. He was used to wearther changes, but this was unbelievable. He had no idea that something eerie and unique was about to happen to him.
He returned to the kingdom walls, not wanting to be late to his reunion gathering in the great halls. He passed through the bronze and silver gates of Gondor's Walls, which were lazily watched by the guards as there was rarely danger in Gondor since the War of the Ring was over.
He was about to enter the Halls, when he was quickly greeted by a good friend of his, an Elf named Legolas from Mirkwood. Beside the Elf was Gimli, a Dwarf, who looked so small compared to his Elvish compainion. "No one else has arrived yet, Aragorn, were you planning this?" Asked his blonde-haired friend in a low tone. Gimli stared up at him with solem eyes.
"Something strange has happened, Aragorn, I felt it all this long time." Said Legolas fearfully, as Elves can since danger before it happens. "Whatever happened, it messed up our world. It flung the time forward and backward, all at the same moment. We are living in the void, Aragorn." He said.
None of the three actually knew what was happening. For they had no idea that the Warp Rift had opened in Middle Earth. Though the Rift would stop opening and be stable and stabilize their world once more, the Rift was in open sight and could be discovered. For what they did not know is when a Rift enters a World, the particular place's time is confused. One person could see another if they are in the same time limit. But that person could not see another person that was actually there in normal time, but was not there in the Warp Rift Time.
Aragorn considered Legolas's words, and then turned. "We have to solve this mystery." He said, and headed out the gates. Legolas and Gimli followed, wordless, and closely kept watch of anything that could have destroyed their world's time.
Suddenly, Gimli gave a shout of alarm and ponted to the oceanline. There was a blue-and-white swirling Cyclone hovering over the shoreline, just as large as Gimli was, and did not move back or forward. Suddenly, there was a brilliant pause, then the world stood still.
The Warp Rift began spinning again after what seemed ages of wating (though it was really seconds), and the world's time was stable. Aragorn could hear voices in the Kingdom once more. He looked at his freinds, who were, gladly, still there and in tact.
"Whatever that thing is, that is what we are looking for." Commented Aragorn, as he walked slowly toward the structure. "Be careful." Gimli said in a low voice, as he slowly pulled out his Dwarven double-axe.
Aragorn slowly approached the Rift. He felt almost stupid doing so. He crept forward a few more steps. Nothing happened. He then picked up a sea shell and tossed it into the Rift. The shell disappeared with a blinding flash. Aragorn jumped back.
"Where did that shell go?" He said, looking into the sky. He looked at the warp rift again. "This could be dangerous to have here. Should we destroy it?" Said Gimli. "No... don't do that." Legolas said. "It could destroy us in return."
Suddenly, at the sound of voices, the Warp Rift unexpectedly moved. It began swirling faster now, and it was so fast that it was sweeping up seaweed and seawater as it went. It was too fast for the others to react, as it pulled the three into an unexpected travel to another world. . .
***
Aragorn opened his eyes. He must have been knocked out when he hit the hard ground. Next to him lay Legolas and Gimli, who were still unconsious from the Warp Rift. His surroundings were like nothing he had ever seen. All though there was plant life, down from the trees dangled wires, and out of holes in the ground jumped electric shocks.
Aragorn stood up and leaned over the edge of a river, trying to get a closer look at this place's water sourse. Though the water was clear, strange wires were visable from underneath the water, and Aragorn was afraid to drink of it.
This must be a new world... That thing took us somewhere else! He thought with dread. How would they return to Middle Earth? He and Legolas both had a kingdom to watch over, and Gimli had to return to his Dwarven realm.
Aragorn withdrew from the water's edge, and lightly shook his Elven freind on the shoulder. "Are you awake?" He asked quietly, strangly afraid that something else was watching and could hear him. Legolas made no movement, no sign that he was okay from the fall. Aragorn could feel his freind's pulse, but something just didn't seem okay with him. Maybe Gimli fell on top of him, and that would surely knock him out longer... Thought Aragorn with the humorous thought of a Dwarf tumbling on top of an Elf. Aragorn shook off the thought, and decided to wait a little longer before thinking about traveling.
After hours of sitting and wondering about what that thing got them into, he felt a light tap on his shoulder, which startled him. He jumped by a reflex, but was quickly calmed by Legolas's reassuring voice.
"Aragorn, do you know where we are?" He said, his blue eyes were fixed on anything that moved. "No... I think we should try and travel when Gimli gets up." Said Aragorn. "Well I am, thank you very much! Now where do we go? My axe wants to taste blood!" Said the Dwarf from behind Legolas.
Aragorn smiled at the Dwarf's optimistic behaivior, though usually Gimli's behaivior was sarcastic (especially around Legolas). A natural leader, Aragorn drew his sword, and signaled for the others to follow.
They tried to follow the river, but it got so twisted and thier path was always blocked by some kind of mechanical mechanism, that they had to change corse. After many hours of travel, Gimli finally complained that they hadn't eaten anything yet. "I'm pretty much not sure that anything around here is edible, Gimli." Said Aragorn, flicking at a wire that hung down like a vine.
Gimli nodded and hacked at another wire with his axe. The territory was annoying, and none of it was enjoyable. Then, the three were yanked out of their thoughts by a siren sound from the distance. With a quick reflex, Aragorn yanked out his sword and faced the source of the sound. Nothing was visable through the wires, but he had a good idea that the sound came from the other side.
Aragorn was just about ready to hack through the wires when suddenly, a ball of electricity whizzed past his head so close that he could feel the heat from it. Legolas answered with three arrows, which shot strait through the wires. Something on the other side yelped, then three horrifying creatures jumped through the wires. Two looked like giant wasps, only with four eyes, and disordered wings. But one was much larger then Aragorn- he had a silver cybernetic jaw and two closed gunholes on his forehead. It looked like a giant two-legged crocodile with spikes emerging from its back, and large, black eyes that struck fear into Aragorn's heart. It looked Aragorn in the eye, its cybernetic jaw clanking on its silver teeth.
Aragorn froze, blinked, then fainted. The creature had invaded his very mind, taking over his body. It roared with delight, just as Legolas shot arrows at him. The creature caught his actions the very split second he planned them, and dodged with unimaginable speed, leaping to the side just as the arrows pinned wires to a silver tree.
The two wasp-drones screeched and flew up into the tall tree wire-limbs. They didn't want to get in their Master's way, as they watched from a safe distance and cheered in an alien tongue when their Master was winning.
Gimli tried to assault the creature with his axe, but it resulted with a quick knockdown. Gimli rolled over, and his helmet hit a tree with a hard crash, and no more movements were made by the Dwarf. Legolas tried to defend his friend by reacting with arrows, but the creature was faster then he imagined. He tried to pull out his dual-knives, but the creature reacted too fast. Suddenly, he saw the holes on his forhead whirr open, and two large balls of electricity shot out, striking him on the arm. He yelped in pain as the electricity sizzled his shoulder armor, cutting through to the skin.
The world before him spun in a blur. He found himself losing his footing, and he collapsed on the hard ground. Gimli , who suddenly snapped back into reality, shouted and slashed the creature on the back. It turned and smacked him, and Gimli reacted with rage. He attacked the creature constantly, but eventually, the creature dug into his mind as well.
After all three of them were unconsious, the creature examined the first target he had ever shot with his new headgun. Feeling as if it was a trophy of achievement, he lifted Legolas into the air. "Get the others and take them to the Training Grounds. This one is going to the Chamber. " Said the creature to his drones. "Yes sir, Malice sir!" They both said together and each took one victim of the creature, who's name was Malice.
Malice snapped at them once more, then left through a secret hole in the wire wall. "The other Sokavians will be pleased with this test subject." Said Malice to himself, slinging the Elf over his arm, holding him by the wrist. "Then we can see if that cloning room actually works." Malice wondered what it would be like to be cloned.
***
Malice pressed his hand up against a reader, staring at the large, cybernetic doors at his secret facility on West Cyborg Addition. He then watched the doors open to his hand print, and he entered the large dome-like building, his home. But, he was jealous, for it was not really his base. It belonged to his leader, whom he treated like dirt and the leader did not care, who's name was Radar. Radar could control anyone other then a Sokavian with a crystal he implanted into his head, and he gave Malice that power as well when he repaired him. But still he hadn't won Malice's respect.
He entered the main hall, where many lower races of Aliens stared at him frightfully, not only because he was carrying a strange being they had never seen before, but because he was Malice.
Malice ignored everyone's fretting and entered another hand-activated chamber. The room he had entered had dim lighting, and three tanks to his right, one filled to the top with bubbling green liquid, the other was empty and had metal arms to clasp someone, and the last tank was another liquid containment chamber.
There was also another chamber, it had beam ray lights for altering a clone, and top-rays for cloning the original, who should be held in the liquid chamber. Malice knew this, for Ravar had told him once.
"Good to see you here, Malice. What have you got for us?" Said Ravar, who had found him in the room while he was checking the gauges on the Liquid Containment Tanks. Malice snorted and said, "I had shot down this being with my guns. He and two others were trespassing on our lands. They must have come from the Warp Rift near Traiclokn River."
Ravar nodded, wanting to hear more about Malice's story. "It is good to see your guns work, Malice. Now, let us use this body as a test for the cloner." Ravar took Legolas from Malice, and walked swiftly over to a bed-like device with wires connected to its base. Ravar laid Legolas on the bed and strode over to a switch. He turned it on, and immediately, Legolas awoke from his unconsciousness.
The first thing he felt was the horrible pain in his arm, but then he noticed where he was. He jumped up and grabbed his bow and an arrow which were safely on his back the whole time. Ravar stared at him with the power of the Crystal. Legolas looked blankly at Ravar dropped his weapons. Malice grabbed him, and Legolas snapped back into reality. He struggled and tried to pull free.
Ravar opened the middle tank in the right of the room. "Place him in there." Said Ravar. Malice dropped Legolas into the chasm, and the mechanical arms grabbed him around the waist, wrist, and feet. He struggled to get free, but the arms' grip were powerful.
Malice sneered and closed the wall, while Ravar sped through the door and appeared up a level in a room surrounded by a glass wall. In a chair next to Ravar sat another Sokavian, Cypher, the clone supervisor. Ravar sat in his chair. His voice came on the inercom.
"Malice, stand back and watch the fun." Said the voice. "We'll see what exactly the liquid and clone ray does." Ravar then activated an information chart on the mother computer. It scanned Legolas in the tank below, then his name and world name appeared on the computer screen behind Ravar's seat. It read:
Name:"Legolas Greenleaf"
Planet Name: "Middle Earth"
Legolas struggled with fear, and stared down. His chasm started to fill with green liquid! He gasped and looked through the glass tank wall. Two drones entered the room, one named Juggernaut and the other named Shock. "Get me out of here! I do not wish to die here!" He said, though he knew very well that they would do nothing to help him.
The water level rose to his feet. The temperature of the water was cold and hot at the same time, and it made his feet itch behind his Elven shoes, but the most horrifying thing was that, as the water rose, an image of himself was taking place in another chasm. Legolas watched with horror- it looked exactly like him. Was this his reflection, or was this another living, breathing copy of... himself? He noticed that it started breathing and blinking when he didn't, and a smile appeared on its lips. It wore the exact same clothes as he did, and it had the same weapons.
Legolas realized that the water had rose to his chest by now, and had gone over the open wound left by Malice's gun. He could feel the water surrounding his wound, seeping into the cut. It made him feel very dizzy, and he almost fainted. But something else was happening to his resemblance.
A red-and-green beam of light began to scan the clone, and as it went over the clone's body, his skin turned blue, and wires and armor appeared all over him- a wire went through his jawbone and out his cheek, then connecting at his lower jaw, then armor appeared on his chest and his hands turned into guns, which could be transformed from gun to hand, and he looked much more muscular then he was.
The water was still rising, as now it was up to his neck. He tried to get out, and he called for help. He watched his clone step off the podium in the other chamber and walk up to him. "Please!" He cried, his voice muffled by the tank walls. "Let me out of here! I won't attack you!" The clone smiled devilishly. "I don't take orders from lower life forms." He said, his voice sounded like Legolas, only colder. Darker.
"Whoa there, Cypher. You are a new recruit, and have they thought you how to shut off the liquid bay?" Ravar suddenlly said, from up in the controll room.. "Oops, I forgot..." Cypher said, and pressed the Liquid Release button. The water in Legolas's chasm emptied, and the door opened. The arms at his waist, wrist, and ankles loostened, and he fell onto the ground at his clone's feet. The liquid that sank into his wound was doing something to him- he felt very weak.
The clone kicked him out of the way, and he could do nothing about it. "It was almost a success." Commented Malice when he saw Ravar enter the first level at the bay. "Yes, something went wrong with the color organizer. Looks like we have a blue clone..." Ravar said, then gave the clone a deep scratch. Green blood oozed out of it. "Ugh! What did you do that for?" The clone said, almost ready to punch Ravar's face in.
Ravar backed away, using his crystal as defence. "You are powerful, Clone, but don't take your power level to the dramatic heights." The Clone nodded. "And, I don't like the name Clone. How about I call you... Excalibur?"
